language

So I sometimes feel like I don't know hardly any of the language... but then when I look at all that I do know I realize that I know quite a bit for the short time that we are here (granted we still don't know that much overall). For example, here is a list of some of the words/phrases I know:

  • good morning = dobro jutro
  • good day = dobar dan
  • good evening = dobro veče
  • hi/hello = zdravo
  • goodbye = do videnja
  • what's up? = šta ima?
  • nothing = ništa (or nema ništa)
  • how are you? = kako si?
  • fine, and you? = dobro, a ti?
  • yes = da
  • no = ne
  • thank you = hvala
  • your welcome/please = molim
  • what is your name? = kako se zovete?
  • I only speak a little Bosnian = govorim malo Bosanski
  • Do you speak English? = Govorite li Engleski?
  • how do you say... = kako se kaže...
  • what time is it? = koliko je sati?
  • how much is the cost? = koliko košta?
  • when will we go for coffee? = kad čemo mi na kafu?
  • how = kako
  • what = šta
  • where = gdje
  • when = kad
  • why = zasto
  • all the numbers
  • how to tell/say time
There is more that I know, but these are just some common phrases that are used most every day. I don't know if anyone really cares, but writing some things down here is really helping me process the things I know.
